Lecce, D’Aversa: Fans crucial, wants entire Salento to support us

Lecce’s Head Coach, Roberto D’Aversa, has given a press conference ahead of their home match against Frosinone.

D’Aversa has acknowledged Frosinone’s skill and flexibility, stating that they are a well-organised team that plays good football. He revealed Frosinone’s ability to switch between different playing formations effortlessly.

In what appears to be a significant game, D’Aversa emphasised the importance of maintaining the atmosphere seen in matches with Lazio and Milan. Speaking about Lecce’s upcoming match with Frosinone, he said, “This game could open up very important scenarios.”

The coach also encouraged his team and the entire Salento region’s support saying, “Frosinone needs to play against the whole of Salento.”

He highlighted the team’s progress despite low expectations at the beginning. “Everyone thought we would be the last or second to last, but hard work and skill have brought different results.”

According to D’Aversa, it is crucial for the team to approach the game with determination and enthusiasm. “We need to go into it with the right mindset, motivated by our fans, who have carried us through many games,” he insisted.

D’Aversa went on to speak about the contrasting objectives in the league, with some teams built to win and others built not to lose. He flaunted Lecce’s record saying, “Today, only Inter, Juve and Bologna have lost fewer than Lecce. Let’s keep that in mind.”

D’Aversa’s comments demonstrate a blend of confidence and pragmatism as Lecce heads into a crucial match. And undoubtedly, the support of their fans will be a crucial factor in the upcoming clash.
