Lazio Targets Emerging Talent From English Championship League

Lazio FC is reportedly in high gear searching for new player acquisitions, with several potential candidates on Club President Claudio Lotito’s radar, one being an emerging talent from England’s Championship, the second tier of English football.

Jack Raymond Clarke, currently plying his trade at Sunderland, is believed to be one of the players Lazio might bring on board. Clarke boasts an impressive record in the Championship having reached the net on 13 occasions as well as providing 3 assists.

The speculation about Clarke being Lazio’s top target was reported in Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport. The publication also claimed that reaching a deal for the player might hit a stumbling block due to Sunderland’s asking price for Clarke.

At present, Sunderland has placed a steep £30 million valuation on the player. The high price tag comes with good reason. Tottenham Hotspur holds a 25% stake in any future sale of Clarke, hence the lofty cost. While the prospect of landing Clarke seems difficult given these figures, it’s not considered impossible. However, should the price remain unchanged, Lotito might be forced to look elsewhere for new talent.
