Lazio protest escalates, fans now target Sarri too

Lazio has suffered a home defeat to Inter Milan, a setback that sees them drift seven points away from a European qualifying place. Alongside the team, Lazio’s manager, Maurizio Sarri, has also come under the scrutiny of the fans.

Following the final whistle, a wave of protests were ignited among the Lazio supporters, with some directing their chants towards the manager. However, the bulk of the anger was aimed at the team itself and the club’s president, Claudio Lotito. This was reported by Rome’s daily newspaper, the Corriere di Roma.

The defeat has led to a significant distance being created between Lazio and the coveted European league places, turning up the heat on Sarri and his team.
