Florian Neuhaus, a 26-year-old central midfielder for Borussia Mönchengladbach, is rumoured to be in transfer talks with Serie A club, Lazio. This information was reported by leading Italian sports newspaper, Corriere dello Sport.
Lazio is said to be attempting to secure a transfer deal for Neuhaus with an option to buy. However, the obligation to purchase the midfielder could set Lazio back between €12 million and €15 million. It was suggested that Lazio’s owner, Claudio Lotito, is hoping to make a cheaper offer.
On top of the negotiations with Lazio, Napoli is also reportedly tracking the player. There have also been rumours about interest from Sevilla FC.
“In addition to his midfield role, Neuhaus is often employed as a playmaker,” the Corriere dello Sport noted.
It appears that, alongside their efforts to secure Neuhaus, Lazio’s management are also looking to offload their Croatian player, Toma Basic. The Corriere dello Sport reported that Basic has sparked interest from Freiburg, Salernitana, and Verona. Lotito reportedly hopes to loan out Basic, while the player himself hopes to leave to get more playtime.
