Football journalist Alfredo Pedullà has reported an essential update on the managerial situation at Serie A club, Lazio, following the departure of manager Sarri.
Speaking on his official website, Pedullà said, “Igor Tudor is a name to pay attention to for Lazio, as already anticipated on Tuesday afternoon, amidst various rumours. In the next few hours, there could be a meeting with his agent Seric, contacts have been ongoing since yesterday. It would be a change far beyond a caretaker role, since Tudor asks for a more extended contract than its expiration in June. To Lotito, a thousand coaches have been proposed, including Gattuso and Scaloni, but today, talks with Tudor are progressing concretely.”
His comments suggest that former Juventus player and coach, Igor Tudor, is the favourite to replace Sarri at Lazio. Talks are reportedly progressing, with Tudor’s agent, Seric, having been in contact with the club yesterday. Tudor is understood to be demanding a long-term deal.
Club president Claudio Lotito has been offered numerous potential replacements, including former Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso and Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni. However, Pedullà emphasises that discussions with Tudor appear to be more concrete.
