La Figc goes pink: the reason behind the initiative

The FIGC has announced a special initiative that will see them in the spotlight throughout the month of October. The details are as follows: the FIGC has issued a press release regarding the initiative for the prevention of breast cancer. In the statement, the FIGC states, “The Federation is also promoting the event scheduled for Sunday in Naples, the ‘Race for the Cure’, and all the events that will be held throughout the month in Campania, accompanied by the ‘Prevention Caravan’, which will offer a series of free examinations during the tour. The members of the women’s national team will meet the ‘Prevention Caravan’ at the end of the month in Salerno, where the Italy-Spain match will take place on Friday, October 27th (5:45pm, Arechi Stadium), as part of the third day of the Women’s Nations League.”

On this occasion, the match coincides with the tour promoted by Komen Italy, which will reach Mercogliano (AV) and the Royal Palace of Caserta (21-22), Salerno (from 26th to 29th) and finally Capua (28-29 October), offering free diagnostic tests at each location, including the Arechi Stadium.”

The FIGC is committed to raising awareness about breast cancer and actively supporting initiatives for prevention. They believe that this collaborative effort with Komen Italy will make a significant impact in spreading awareness and providing access to diagnostic tests.

The ‘Race for the Cure’ event in Naples and the subsequent events held throughout the month in Campania, along with the presence of the ‘Prevention Caravan’, underline the commitment of the FIGC to promote the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
