Juventus and Aston Villa remain at an impasse over a potential midfield swap involving Douglas Luiz and Weston McKennie, though Juventus’ football director, Cristiano Giuntoli, remains positive.
According to Tuttosport, the Italian giants and the Premier League club have yet to agree on the terms of the exchange deal.
The main sticking point is Aston Villa’s valuation of McKennie’s transfer fee, which the club has not appraised at €35 million, the amount Juventus insists upon.
Despite the ongoing negotiations, Giuntoli continues to express optimism about reaching a favourable conclusion for both parties.
“We are still negotiating, and I am confident we will find a solution that works for everyone,” Giuntoli said to Tuttosport.
Both clubs are reportedly eager to strengthen their midfields, but for now, the financial details continue to pose a significant hurdle.
“The valuation mismatch is something we are working hard to resolve,” added Giuntoli.
The talks are ongoing, and it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached before the transfer window closes.
