Juve, Allegri: We must keep our feet on the ground

Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has addressed the media ahead of the club’s clash against Roma.

During the press conference, Allegri urged his team to keep their feet on the ground while acknowledging the side is currently in a positive phase. He emphasised the volatility of football and urged his team to focus on their impending match rather than past achievements. Remarking on the mid-point of the season, Allegri highlighted that the team has two more matches and their current points tally is 40.

“We are having a good time, but as we all know, football is about balance. We need to stay grounded, think about tomorrow’s match, and not what has been done so far. We’re not even halfway through the season, there are two matches left. We’ll see where we stand in the league table after these. Roma is a tough team to face, they have one of the best managers on their bench,” said Allegri.

The Juventus manager provided an update on the injury situation of the team. Apart from right-back Mattia De Sciglio, who has just only returned to partial team training, he mentioned that left-back Alex Sandro will likely be unavailable for around ten days. He also talked about their packed schedule with the Coppa Italia match against Salernitana just three days later. In spite of the festivities, Allegri emphasised the need for concentration and focus.

Regarding the team’s recent defensive record, conceding five goals in the last six games, Allegri expressed his concerns. According to him, Juventus are not accustomed to conceding such easy goals, which have been discussed among the team.

“Details make the difference, we need to get back to fearing to concede goals, otherwise you make careless mistakes,” Allegri added. The source of these quotes is a press conference attended by JuventusNews24.
