Lazio has made another significant offer for Ioannidis, but Panathinaikos president Yiannis Alafouzos stands firm and has rejected the bid from the Biancocelesti.
Lazio remains persistent in their pursuit of Ioannidis. However, they face a staunch obstacle in the form of Panathinaikos president Yiannis Alafouzos.
As reported by the Greek portal sportal.gr, the Greek club has turned down a €20 million offer from Lazio for the player.
“Panathinaikos has no intention of letting go of Ioannidis at this point,” said Yiannis Alafouzos, speaking to sportal.gr. “We value him highly and believe he is crucial to our plans moving forward.”
The Biancocelesti’s interest in Ioannidis has been ongoing, but Alafouzos’s firm stance suggests that a deal may not be on the horizon anytime soon.
Lazio’s offer reflects their determination to secure the player, yet it appears Panathinaikos is equally determined to retain him.
This transfer saga is expected to continue as Lazio explores new tactics and potential offers to bring Ioannidis to Rome.
