Salernitana’s head coach, Filippo Inzaghi, expressed his disappointment in a post-match interview with Mediaset, following a defeat against Juventus in the recent Coppa Italia.
Inzaghi admitted that while taking the early lead in the match was regrettable, facing a full Juventus line-up that had changed almost entirely was a tough challenge. The Juventus team was in great form, creating difficulties for Salernitana.
According to Inzaghi, “Being ahead like this leaves a bit of regret, but when you play against a completely changed Juve, with 10/11 of their players different, it’s hard to resist.”
Despite coming off a period of success, Salernitana’s coach suggested that the team’s condition after their trip from Verona was less than ideal, contributing to the disappointing defeat.
“We bring home a bad defeat,” Inzaghi said, “but the last two games have been amazing.”
Maintaining optimism, Inzaghi hinted at the team’s recent remarkable performances despite the latest setback. He noted that the loss is a reminder of the challenges faced by his team and the level of competition in the tournament.
