Javier Zanetti, vice-president of Inter Milan, has recently spoken regarding the inauguration of the La Meca football and paddle sports complex in Sarandí.
Zanetti, on the sidelines of the event, reflected on the past year. “Truth is, it has been a great year for me, I turned 50, a significant number. When I remember the entire journey, I feel proud,” he said, according to the source.
Zanetti also addressed Scaloni’s recent statements. He interpreted Scaloni’s words as expressing a need for change, not a deliberate strategy. “He expressed what he felt, that he had to stop and see other things that interested him. But there’s no underlying strategy in his declarations,” Zanetti stated.
The Inter Milan vice president further suggested that Scaloni’s decision wasn’t necessarily a financial one. “I’m not sure if it’s about money. I think he was sincere and I’m sure he and the president of AFA will find a solution for the Argentine national team to continue to be in an elite place.”
Zanetti is understood to be referring to Lionel Scaloni, the current coach of the Argentina national team, whose future has been the subject of speculation in recent days.
