Marcus Thuram, the French international who plays for Inter Milan, has recently shared his insights and experiences with Lega Serie A’s Youtube channel.
Thuram highlighted his experience at the San Siro stadium, one of the most iconic football venues in the world. He said, “Exiting the tunnel at San Siro is always special. Scoring goals and hearing the noise of the fans is incredible.” The French forward also expressed his appreciation for the unique atmosphere at San Siro, the support from the fans and the chants, urging fans to experience it firsthand at the stadium.
Regarding his impact in the team, Thuram focused on his responsibility to contribute in all aspects of the game, from scoring goals and taking penalties to providing assists and putting in defensive shifts. He emphasized his role beyond scoring goals, encapsulating a contemporary view of a striker. He added, “As a number 9, you must do job on the field. If I’m on the left, I have something to do, if I’m on the right, I have something else to do or in the middle. You must make the right choice at the right time: do not shoot if a teammate is free, if there is no free teammate, you can shoot. You must interpret the game in the best possible way.”
The Frenchman also spoke warmly about his rapport with teammate Lautaro Martinez. He shared that they complement each other well on and off the pitch. He expressed his admiration for Martinez’s technical skills and goal-scoring knack, and recognized their mutual respect for the game. He concluded, “Playing with someone like that makes it easier.”
