Inter Milan is looking for a replacement for Juan Cuadrado, who is set for an imminent surgical procedure, according to the latest edition of Gazzetta dello Sport. After conservative therapies failed to yield positive effects, the Colombian player’s continuing Achilles tendon issues will likely sideline him for a minimum of three months. This situation has pushed Inter back into the transfer market.
One of the leading solutions being considered by the club is to hasten the arrival of Portuguese player Djalò to Appiano. This move would allow Darmian to be used regularly as a wing-back. Following a right knee cruciate ligament injury last March, the 23-year-old has yet to return to the field this season. With his contract due to expire in June, Lille is eager to sell him at once. Inter, already having a basic agreement for a five-year contract with him, is pondering over whether to expedite this transaction with a modest adjustment, to be negotiated with the French club. However, Inter’s management is reportedly considering other options.
Their top choice is Tajon Buchanan from Bruges in Canada. Despite it requiring a larger investment, it is seen as a long-term solution, reminiscent of the Gosens operation from two years ago. A third option that has been initially dismissed but is still on the list is Nahitan Nandez, a Uruguayan whose contract expires in June and was previously linked with Inter.
