Inter Milan’s Juan Cuadrado is set to be out for the next three months, prompting the club’s Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio to start planning for the transfer window. Their primary target appears to be Club Brugge’s Buchanan.
The Italian side will first make an approach to the Belgian club about the Canadian winger. However, there’s a significant hurdle – the transfer budget. Inter Milan currently has no funds to spend on new players, and Club Brugge is known to be a hold-out for high valuations.
There are hopes though that Buchanan’s contract situation could aid negotiations. With his contract set to run out in 2025, there’s potential for a loan deal until this June, with an obligatory purchase option to follow. This would allow Inter to bring in Buchanan despite their financial limitations.
