Instabulspor president dramatically withdraws team from match with Trabzonspor in Turkey

A sensational incident took place during the match between Instabulspor and Trabzonspor in the Turkish league’s 17th round. The president of the home team, Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu, dramatically withdrew his team on the pitch following the scoring of a contentious 2-1 goal by the opposition.

This move was driven by an objection to referee Ali Sansalan’s decision to allow the goal, in spite of a VAR review which, according to Sarıalioğlu, should have highlighted an alleged foul on Loshaj. The president took matters into his own hands, stepped onto the playing field mid-game and instructed his players to leave.
