Umberto Calcagno, President of Assocalciatori, expressed his satisfaction following the government’s decision to withdraw the extension of the Growth Decree.
“We heard the news of the abrogation with great satisfaction,” said Calcagno. He mentioned that this rule, which pertained to those repatriating under the Growth Decree, was affecting the entire national football movement.
Calcagno added that finally, from 1 January 2024, Italian and foreign footballers will be able to compete on the same level.
“I thank the government and the political parties who showed sensitivity to our demands and to the fate of Italian football,” Calcagno said, emphasizing the importance of protecting the future of the national team and the development of their world’s supply chain.
