Galatasaray is reportedly stepping up its pursuit of Roma full-back, Zeki Celik, according to the renowned Turkish sports outlet Sporx.
This comes on the heels of Roma’s on-going need to make squad sales in the transfer market for financial fair play (FFP) compliance. It seems the Roma management is taking each potential offer very seriously in this trying time.
Galatasaray’s interest has been piqued following their impressive €35 million sale of Boey to Bayern Munich, leaving them in need of a new exterior player to fill the void.
Orchestrating a move for Celik has expedited after an initial interest in Lorenz Assignon of Rennes stalled due to negotiating drawbacks. Reported by Sporx, Galatasaray has “intensified contact for De Rossi’s exterior” in a bid to address their squad deficit.
Celik, already on the list of Roma’s surplus players, has emerged as a viable candidate for the Turkish football giant’s agenda.
