Nicola Canonico, President of Foggia football club, has addressed the media regarding the team’s current league standing.
Canonico began by acknowledging the challenges faced when running a club such as Foggia. He said: “In Foggia, if you show up too much, you are seen in a bad light, if you don’t speak up, you are considered absent: there is never a measure consistent with what is reality.”
He went on to state that he would have addressed the current situation regardless of team performances. The Foggia President stressed the importance of providing reassurances and maintaining tranquillity amid rising tensions within the club. This difficulty was highlighted during the second half of a recent game, when the team, after a strong first-half performance, conceded a goal and appeared to be scared.
Canonico also reassured fans that the team will not be idly standing by for the much-needed adjustments. Despite being unhappy with this season’s performance, he pointed out that the club is only one point behind last year’s tally at this point.
Finally, Canonico voiced optimism and perseverance. Citing patience as key, he stated the club will continue to work as usual and maintain a calm atmosphere to make this season as respectable as he had promised at the start.
