Fiorentina-Verona 1-0: Beltran’s second Serie A goal proves decisive

At the Franchi Stadium, Fiorentina faced Verona in a match that marked the 16th round of Serie A 2023/2024.

The match ended with Fiorentina taking a 1-0 victory, decided by Beltran’s second goal of the championship.

In the 78th minute, Beltran scored the winning goal, following a favouring mishap by Hien and an assist from Ikoné.

Earlier in the match, Biraghi’s smooth cross met Mandragora’s volley, but Montipò managed to block it in two attempts at the 74th minute. At 69 minutes, Terracciano performed a miracle by saving Fiorentina from a close-call header from defender Hien following an angle development.

Other notable moments include Terracciano stopping a shot from 20 meters by Suslov at the 52nd minute, Biraghi’s unsuccessful free-kick attempt at the 62-minute mark, and Ikoné’s left-footed strike over Montipò’s goal just minutes into the second half.

In the first half, an offside ruling cancelled Nzola’s goal at the 20-minute mark. At just 3 minutes into the match, Verona was awarded a penalty after Terracciano’s error led to him bringing down Folorunsho; however, Terracciano then saved the penalty shot from Djuric.

Although the match saw several exciting moments and a fierce competition, the only successful goal came from Beltran, making him the probable man of the match. His performance will be confirmed after official reviews.

The whistle signalled the end of an intense contest in Fiorentina’s favour, placing them in a promising position going forward in the Serie A season.
