Elmas bids farewell to Napoli: Always in my heart

Albanian midfielder, Eljif Elmas, has taken to social media to farewell Napoli and its fans following his recent move to RB Leipzig.

Elmas, who has joined RB Leipzig after five seasons with Napoli, shared a heartfelt message for the fans and team.

In his posts he said, “Dear fans, you welcomed me as a child, pampered me, protected me, helped me grow into a man. Together we’ve experienced beautiful moments, unforgettable nights and indescribable joy”.

Remembering his time with Napoli, Elmas expressed how being a part of the Napoli family was a privilege for him. He acknowledged the amazing people he met and friendships he forged, stating, “Your affection, your warmth, your joy, and your love will accompany me everywhere”.

Elmas further added in his statement that while it was time for goodbyes and their paths were diverging, the bond built over the years would remain everlasting.

The Albanian player also appreciated his experience at the Italian club, passionately noting, “Being part of Napoli and having written a part of this city’s history is a unique thing”.

He expressed gratitude to the club president, team management and coaches, his fellow players, and all the dedicated staff members. He thanked Napoli and heaped praise on the teeming fans whose support over the past five years made him feel at home.

Elmas concluded his departing message with a heartfelt salutation and reaffirmed his affection for the Napoli football family saying, “You will forever remain in my heart…azure! Forza Napoli always! Ciao, Elif”.
