Albin Ekdal, following a 15-year career in Italy, is set to return to his native Sweden at 34 to join Djurgardens. As reported by Sportmediaset, the player has terminated his contract with Spezia, currently second from bottom in Serie B.
Ekdal originally arrived in Italy in 2008 at the age of 19, and has had a career spanning top-flight clubs like Juventus, Siena, Bologna, Cagliari, and Spezia. He also gained experience in the German league with Hamburg.
Now, after 15 years, he bids farewell to Italian football, ready to start the next chapter of his professional journey back home in Sweden.
