Following his press conference discussion, Denzel Dumfries has addressed the topic of his contract renewal with Inter Milan, speaking to journalists during an interview with NOS while on duty with the Netherlands national team. He highlighted the details surrounding his contract extension with the Nerazzurri.
On the matter of his renewal, Dumfries revealed, “I haven’t officially signed the extension yet; we still need to sort out some details.” He noted that the negotiation had been ongoing for some time due to a recent change in ownership from Suning to Oaktree. “I expect things to go well,” he continued, expressing his eagerness to finalise the agreement. “The intention is there, and I hope to sign as soon as possible to resolve this matter and move forward,” he told NOS.
Regarding his competition with Matteo Darmian at Inter, Dumfries commented on the numerous substitutions he has faced. “The many times on the bench? Both Darmian and I want to play, and there’s a healthy competition between us,” he explained, highlighting their mutual drive to perform. “I try to give my best every day, respecting the coach’s decisions,” he added.
