Gianni De Biasi, current manager of Azerbaijan and ex-Torino manager, recently shared his thoughts on Torino teams with Tuttosport.
De Biasi believes Torino is on track this season, predicting that the team will finish anywhere between seventh and tenth place. According to him, “Buongiorno has seen a significant technical improvement and is currently in the best psychological condition”.
He commented specifically on Buongiorno, saying that he has tenaciously opted to stay with the team for which he has always been a fan. Moreover, Zapata’s presence on the team has injected a wave of enthusiasm along with his remarkable skill as a forward. De Biasi said that Zapata’s unique combination of scoring goals, strength, attacking depth, proposition, and defence makes him an incredible player when fit.
On the role of midfielder Ricci, De Biasi observed that like Buongiorno and Zapata, Ricci also possesses a readiness for battle, a trait he believes is very much in line with Torino’s spirit.
In regards to Juric’s renewal, De Biasi said, “Probably both parties are not able to see the clear picture. The difference between a seventh and a tenth place is huge.”
Finally, De Biasi hailed Juric for his motivational skills. He said Juric is a coach who delivers results by capitalizing on what he has without complaint, can occasionally throw a punch, and knows how to find the motivation to recover or adjust the elements at his disposal.
