Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has discussed the club’s transfer market in a press conference following the match against Preston.
Addressing queries about potential new signings, Pochettino adopted a non-committal stance. He specifically declined to comment on rumours surrounding individual players, most notably Henderson.
“Henderson? We’re not discussing names at the moment, we’re not talking about any footballer,” said Pochettino during the press conference. He noted that he had met with the club’s owners and anticipates further discussions.
However, he stressed that these talks had not concentrated on individual players or acquisitions. Instead, the focus for now is on current squad members such as Andrey Santos. “I will speak with the owners and the sporting director tomorrow and we will see,” Pochettino added.
Pochettino’s comments suggest a measured and tactical approach to the transfer window, with the focus on nurturing and capitalising on the talent within the existing team. The coming days may shed further light on Chelsea’s plans for upcoming transfers.
