Sassuolo CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, has discussed the future of Domenico Berardi, amid rumours of a potential exit from the club.
Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan are all reportedly interested in the forward. Speaking on TMW Radio, Carnevali decided to address the ongoing speculation.
He stated, “Juventus expressed interest in Domenico this summer, but nothing came of it as there is a difference between being interested and having the determination to finalise something. Beyond Juventus, there were also other clubs showing interest.”
Carnevali continued, “For us, there is a desire to move forward together, because there is a special bond between us. While the rumours have been ongoing for years, he has always remained our top acquisition in each transfer window.”
The CEO also responded to comments by manager Jose Mourinho, who he believes doesn’t know Berardi well. He said, “I was disappointed with Mourinho’s words, which weren’t accurate. I’ve never made him any promises. If the opportunity arises, we’ll discuss it to find the best solution for everyone.”
