Cagliari’s Pursuit of French Player Defrel Cools Down

Cagliari’s interest in striker Gregoire Defrel apparently is cooling down. Sassuolo’s forward, the first target of Ranieri on the transfer market, leans towards staying with the Neroverde.

“La Nuova Sardegna” reports that Cagliari’s pursuit of Gregoire Defrel seems to have cooled. The Italian club had previously shown strong interest in the forward as part of their offensive restructure.

The Frenchman, who is highly favoured by Cagliari manager Claudio Ranieri, may remain at Sassuolo, as his team is not willing to make any investments to fill in the possible gap.
