Bonucci’s move to Roma falls through: The reasons

Union Berlin central defender, Leonardo Bonucci, will not be transferring to Roma during the January transfer window.

This report comes according to Corriere dello Sport, which has stated that The Friedkin Group, owners of Roma, have decided against formalizing a deal previously agreed by Tiago Pinto and Bonucci’s representative.

The motivation behind this change of heart stems from financial reasons. Roma’s ownership is reportedly unwilling to invest 2 million euros in a player who will turn 37 in 2024.
