Zbigniew Boniek, former Roma player and current vice-president of UEFA, commented on the fallout between Tiago Pinto and the club in an interview with Italian sports newspaper ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’.
“I know that his contract was due to expire in June and the decision was taken by mutual agreement. These things happen in football. It’s hard to comment on these events from the outside,” Boniek stated.
While the precise circumstances of the separation remain unclear, it would seem, as Boniek suggests, that it was a mutually agreed conclusion to Pinto’s tenure with Roma.
