Bologna’s transfer plans are facing uncertainty as the future of Victor Kristiansen remains in the balance.
According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna’s director, Giovanni Sartori, considers the €14 million buyout fee for the defender from Leicester to be excessive.
“The club will not trigger the option to buy Kristiansen,” Sartori reportedly said, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.
While the Danish left-back has shown promise, Sartori is believed to have already identified a potential replacement for the position.
The Bologna executive is prepared to act swiftly to ensure the team remains competitive in the upcoming season.
Further details about Kristiansen’s successor are yet to be disclosed, but it is clear that Bologna are actively pursuing alternatives.
Sartori’s prudent financial approach underlines Bologna’s strategy in the current transfer market, aiming to balance competitiveness with fiscal responsibility.
