Bologna’s football market presented with reinforcements for the Champions League.

Bologna FC is planning for the future of its squad, reports reveal. As the close of the season approaches it is uncertain whether the Serie A team will play in the Champions League. Regardless, Riccardo Sartori, the team’s technical director, is planning for a transfer window that will inject necessary depth into the squad for the upcoming European cup season.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Sartori has dispatched scouts to Germany to monitor Robin Gosens. Sartori is well-acquainted with Gosens from his time at Atalanta and should Bologna secure a top four position, they could potentially commence negotiations with Union Berlin to acquire Gosens.

“We’re starting from 10 million and working on a loan with the right to purchase,” stated a source close to the situation. If achieved, Gosens’ arrival will not necessarily mean Alexis Saelemaekers’ departure. The Belgian player, currently on loan from AC Milan, has a different playing style and his continuation with the team will depend on his performances in the coming months.

“Bologna FC has set aside 10 million for his redemption, but it will be up to him to earn it,” the source added. The club is focusing on boosting its roster depth with diverse playing styles to ensure maximum resilience in the face of the upcoming European competitions.
