Bologna Strengthens Attack with New Signing

Bologna FC has been particularly active in the transfer market in recent hours, with a focus on bolstering the offensive lineup. This is according to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport. Following the arrival of Castro – a deal that cost the club 12 million and involved a contract running until 2029 – the newest addition to the side is Jeens Odgaard.

The 22-year-old Danish forward joins the Italian team on loan from AZ Alkmaar, with an option to buy for a 3.5 million fee. Odgaard’s arrival marks Bologna’s third transaction with the Dutch team, following deals for Beukema and Karlsson. The striker’s versatility, with the ability to play as a centre-forward and right winger, brings a flexibility that Coach Thiago Motta is sure to value.

Having previously played with the youth teams of Inter Milan, Sassuolo, and Pescara, Odgaard is not unaccustomed to Italian football. This experience will enable him to contribute right away, giving Castro time to adjust to Italy’s Serie A. The speed of the operation was assisted by the recent transfer of Sydney Van Hooijdonk, who is heading to Championship team Norwich. His case also entailed a loan with a purchase option.
