Bologna Football Club is reportedly in search of further reinforcements, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport. The club, keen to continue their ascendancy in the European league, is led by Coach Thiago Motta.
Their primary target, as stated by the source, is US midfielder Tanner Tessmann, currently playing for Venezia. Born in 2001, Tessmann is being sought as a replacement for El Azzouzi, who is set to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.
In addition to Tessmann, Bologna’s executives Fanucci, Di Vaio, and Sartori are reportedly considering the addition of a deputy striker to support Zirkzee. Their preferred choice for the role is Santiago Castro, who presently plays for Velez.
Castro’s contract reportedly contains a 10 million Euro release clause, a financial hurdle Bologna is making attempts to negotiate. Bologna’s interest in Castro is reported to be reciprocated by the player himself, according to the same Italian sports daily.
