Bologna FC is reportedly looking east for emerging talents in its recruitment strategy, according to Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino. The team’s current focus is on the Serbian league which Bologna’s executives, including Director of Football, Marco Di Vaio, are believed to be closely monitoring.
Among the players of interest are three young defenders, given Bologna’s need to bolster its backline following the departure of central defender Kevin Bonifazi. Those linked with a move to the Serie A club include Svetozar Markovic and Mihajlo Ilic, aged 23 and 20 respectively, who both play for Partizan Belgrade.
20-year-old Mateja Djordjevic of Backa Topola is also thought to be on Bologna’s radar as the Italian club continues to scout eastern Europe for potential future prospects.
