Bayern Munich’s Freund: Lazio are seasoned, Italian teams always challenging to face

Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund expressed his views on the upcoming Champions League Round of 16 draws.

Speaking to the club’s official channels, Freund conveyed his satisfaction about Bayern Munich making it to the knockout stages of the competition.

In what could be seen as an indirect compliment to Italian football, Freund stated,”We are very happy to be in the last 16. Italian oppositions are always difficult to face.”

Lazio, who Bayern Munich are set to face in the Round of 16, was specifically addressed by Freund. He acknowledged the team’s rich European experience despite their current struggles in their domestic league.

Freund was quoted saying, “Lazio is an experienced team, with plenty of European experience. At the moment they are struggling in the league, but the games will be very attractive and we are looking forward to them.”

Therefore, while recognizing the challenges that Lazio might pose, the Bayern Munich official seemed excited about the forthcoming matches.
