Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has spoken out about the club’s transfer market objectives, notably targeting a fresh midfielder following an injury to Gavi. Speaking with the Spanish news agency, EFE, he outlined the Catalan team’s plans.
Laporta was quoted as saying, “If we can do it within the constraints of the Financial Fair Play, we would like to recruit a midfielder to cover for Gavi’s absence.” He suggested that this could take the form of a temporary loan until the end of the season, similar to their past deal with Edgard Davids from Juventus many years ago. This highlights Barcelona’s reliance on pragmatic, economic solutions in keeping with their financial obligations, while also addressing their immediate needs on the pitch.
