Barcelona, the truth about De Jong-Deco dispute

The agent of Barcelona midfielder, Frankie De Jong, Ali Dursun, has dismissed rumours of a spat between De Jong and the club’s director, Deco. He spoke to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf to clear the air on the alleged incident.

He refuted the alleged altercation with Deco and said, “A row with Deco? It’s the biggest nonsense that has been said about Frenkie for a long time. There was no shouting on the phone. It’s a false news. The player was simply ill, with a fever which is why he couldn’t travel.”

Dursun went on to insist that De Jong’s reputation hasn’t been affected. He praised his professionalism and consistently good performance. He stressed that all the speculations around De Jong’s conduct are incorrect.

Dursun emphasized his client’s amicable relationship with Deco saying, “His relationship with Deco is simply good and stable”. These remarks by De Jong’s agent were directed towards debunking rumours while appreciating De Jong’s commitment as a professional.
