After the match between Atalanta and Bologna, Atalanta’s head coach Gian Piero Gasperini expressed his views to Sky Sports.
Gasperini began by acknowledging the unpredictable nature of football, saying, “This is football, it happens.” He reflected on the missed opportunities that his team had during the match.
He said, “We had our chances but we did not materialise them. This is Bologna’s moment, we lost in the aerial game and hence suffered penalties.”
The coach also pointed out specific instances in the game, hinting at how Ferguson’s jump near the goal displaced his team’s defence. He stated, “Ferguson jumped too clean and close, it’s not the first time.”
Gasperini voiced his disappointment by implying that his team should have won the match. “We should be winning these games,” he noted. Instead, he lamented how they have lost points in such circumstances.
He concluded that his team, once good at handling such situations, is currently on the losing side, acknowledging the need for a turnaround. “Now, we are losing and we need to overturn this situation,” he concluded.
