Atalanta have been forced into the transfer market following an injury to Giorgio Scalvini.
The club’s defensive prodigy suffered a knee injury that will see him sidelined for at least six months.
This significant setback has prompted the Bergamasque side to seek a replacement urgently.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta are now turning their attention to the French league for potential reinforcements.
Director of Football Giovanni Sartori commented on the situation, stating, “Scalvini’s injury has certainly disrupted our plans, but we are committed to finding the best possible replacement.”
According to Sartori, the club has already shortlisted several candidates from Ligue 1 and discussions are underway.
“We are in advanced talks with a few clubs and hope to finalise a deal soon,” Sartori added.
Atalanta fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how the club navigates this unexpected challenge and who will step in to fill Scalvini’s boots for the upcoming season.
