Aston Villa have officially announced the contract extension of their forward, Jhon Durán, who has committed to the club until 2030. Durán, born in 2003, made headlines when he scored in the Champions League match against Bayern Munich, gaining the attention of Europe’s elite clubs.
In a statement from Aston Villa, the club expressed its excitement about the young talent’s future at Villa Park. “Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Jhon Durán has signed a new contract with the club until 2030,” read the official release.
The statement continued: “The 20-year-old has been in scintillating form at the start of this season, scoring six times, including the solitary goal in Wednesday night’s famous victory against the German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League.”
Durán’s impact has not been limited to the Champions League. The club’s statement highlighted his contributions in domestic fixtures as well. “He has also contributed goals in matches against West Ham, Leicester, and Everton, the latter featuring a spectacular strike from distance,” the club added.
A Colombian international, Durán joined Aston Villa in January 2023 from MLS side Chicago Fire, bringing his promising skills to the Premier League.
