The Champions League kicks off tomorrow, and among the many players to watch out for is Viktor Gyokeres.
The 26-year-old Swedish striker for Sporting FC has scored eight goals in the first six matches of the season and 34 in the calendar year. These figures place him alongside Haaland and Mbappé among the top scorers in Europe.
He will make his debut tomorrow against Lille and shared his thoughts in a press conference.
“When I play, I always want to score,” Gyokeres said, as reported in the press conference. “I will try to do the same in the Champions League. The goal is to score more goals than last season. The future? We’ll see what happens; I don’t know anything… What’s my value? Good question… I don’t know. I don’t work for the club, nor am I a businessman, I am not aware of it. I am happy at Sporting, it’s not a problem for me to have stayed.”
