Sassuolo’s manager, Alessio Dionisi, has shared his thoughts following the clash with Empoli. In a press conference reported on by tmw, he assessed the highs and lows of the team’s performance.
He stated: “The victory is deserved even though individual incidents make a difference.” Dionisi expressed pleasure at the positive scenarios his team created during the game despite the challenges posed by a lively Empoli side.
He also commented indirectly on an early incident in the match which could have potentially derailed the team’s momentum; however, it was evident that he sees room for improvement in certain areas. Dionisi subtly suggested that the team must focus on their performance during inactive balls because these situations can’t always lead to recovery.
Another issue of concern for the Sassuolo coach was the team’s unusual scoring pattern away from home. He noted indirectly that it was an oddity as the team needed to score four goals away from home, an area they need to improve on, as this is not typical.
He concluded: “Empoli puts you in difficulty if you’re not good at getting back in order.” The coach’s statement implies the need for the team to strengthen their strategies when playing against dynamic teams like Empoli.
