Theo Hernandez’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, delivered a significant update regarding the French player’s future at AC Milan during an appearance on *QSVS* on *Telelombardia*.
“Theo is happy at Milan,” Garcia Quilon said. “There are no ongoing negotiations for a contract renewal, and we have not made any requests. We haven’t talked about anything for four months. The last time I heard from Milan was in May, when they asked if Theo was happy at the club. We responded affirmatively, and then no one from the club followed up. We have no offer from the club.”
Addressing rumours of a request for €8 million, Garcia Quilon clarified, “Did Theo say this? No. I respect your work and I’m telling you the truth. What this newspaper (La Gazzetta dello Sport) is saying—did Theo say it? No. Those words did not come from Theo’s mouth. Someone is spreading this to influence public opinion, and it is certainly not us. How many times have I called a journalist in Italy? Never. For your work, what I do is help you, not deceive you.”
On the potential scenarios should Hernandez not renew his contract, Garcia Quilon remarked, “Football is football. You work in the world of football, so you know everything is very ‘quick’. Every day things change due to a thousand details that exist in football. Today, I can say that Theo’s main idea is to continue at Milan, find an agreement, and stay with the club for as long as possible. He wants to grow as much as possible with the club, grow with the team, and achieve the best league performance possible. What will happen in a year? I don’t know. I don’t want to lie to you, I don’t know. However, if within a year this situation could not happen if the player renews, if he extends his contract. If he does prolong his contract, this situation will not happen. Now, if in this year, due to the circumstances, the contract is not extended, what happens? I would be lying, and I don’t like lying; I don’t know what might happen. But the idea at this moment, here and now, is that Theo is happy at Milan.”
