Cesare Casadei addressed the media alongside Enzo Maresca ahead of Chelsea’s Conference League fixture against Gent, a match in which he is set to start.
The Italian midfielder expressed his desire to remain with the Blues, despite being a target for several Serie A clubs, with Fiorentina being particularly keen.
“I don’t think I’ll be leaving Chelsea in January, not now,” Casadei said during the press conference, as reported by the news outlet.
He further clarified, “The decision to stay and not go out on loan was mine, after speaking with Maresca.”
Casadei underscored his commitment to Chelsea, stating, “I never intended to leave permanently. I’ve always wanted to play for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
