Como, the newly promoted Serie A side, has officially announced the sale of Cas Odenthal to Sassuolo.
The club released an official statement on their website confirming the transfer.
“Como 1907 communicates the permanent transfer of Cas Odenthal to Sassuolo,” the statement reads.
Odenthal, who joined Como in the summer of 2022 from NEC Nijmegen, has been a cornerstone of the team’s defence since his arrival.
The announcement comes as a significant move for both clubs, with Como seeking to adjust their squad for the top-flight and Sassuolo aiming to bolster their defensive options.
No financial details of the transfer have been disclosed by either club.
Odenthal’s departure will undoubtedly leave a void in Como’s backline, but the club will be looking to reinvest in new talent to stay competitive in Serie A.
