Tottenham reported to enter race for Juventus’ McKennie, impacting Douglas Luiz swap deal

Weston McKennie’s future continues to be a topic of significant interest, with the Juventus midfielder now being closely linked to a transfer move.

According to English journalist Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur has overtaken Aston Villa in the race to sign McKennie.

“Tottenham is now leading the chase for Weston McKennie,” said O’Rourke, adding that talks between the clubs are advancing. The midfielder, who has been at the centre of transfer speculations, did not reach an agreement in a proposed swap deal.

The details of the transfer negotiations are yet to be finalised, but Tottenham appears to be the frontrunner for McKennie’s signature.

A statement from a Juventus insider noted, “Weston is evaluating his options, and Tottenham’s interest is strong.” The source added that no final decision has been made.

Aston Villa, previously in pole position, now finds itself playing catch-up in this transfer saga. The Premier League side needs to move swiftly if they are to secure McKennie before Tottenham finalises the deal.
