The latest on AC Milan’s potential new forward, with a duel between Zirkzee and Lukaku, has emerged.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Joshua Zirkzee remains Milan’s preferred choice to replace Olivier Giroud for the next season.
The Dutchman has a release clause set at €40 million to free him from Bologna.
“La società è in trattative avanzate con Zirkzee,” a club insider revealed to the publication. “Siamo fiduciosi di poter concludere l’affare presto.”
Romelu Lukaku, currently with Chelsea, is also rumoured to be on Milan’s radar.
“AC Milan is evaluating all options to bolster their attack,” a source close to the negotiations told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
With only one season left on Giroud’s contract, Milan are keen to secure his successor promptly.
“Il club sta cercando un attaccante giovane ma già con esperienza,” the source added.
Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
