Elayis Tavsan has officially become a new player for Hellas Verona, the club has confirmed.
Hellas Verona FC formally announced that they have “acquired the sporting performances of Dutch forward Elayis Tavsan on a definitive basis from NEC Nijmegen.”
Born in Rotterdam on 30 April 2001, Tavsan started his football journey in the youth sector of his hometown team, Sparta Rotterdam. He made his first-team debut in an Eerste Divise match during the 2018/19 season, featuring in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw against NEC.
Tavsan moved to Telstar the following season, another team in Eerste Divise, where he played 22 matches and scored 7 goals. The 2020/21 season saw his definitive switch to NEC Nijmegen, a club based in the city of Nijmegen, which competed in Eerste Divise. Over the course of the season, Tavsan played 38 matches and scored 11 goals, assisting the team in securing promotion to Eredivisie.
Over the next two seasons, Tavsan made a total of 62 appearances for NEC (30 in the 2021/22 season and 32 in 2022/23), netting 8 goals (5 and 3). So far this season, Tavsan has played 8 matches and scored 2 goals. The new Hellas Verona forward also has caps for the Dutch national team, from the Under 17 to the Under 21 squads.
