Stefano Trinchera, the sporting director of Lecce, has openly discussed the club’s transfer market strategies during a press conference introducing new signing Santiago Pierotti.
In regard to Pierotti’s fitness levels, Trinchera stated, “Pierotti is physically well. However, to say whether the coach will deploy him against Juve is a bit premature.”
Turning his attention towards Gabriel Strefezza and speculations about his future at Lecce, Trinchera suggested a potential transfer might be on the cards if the player is not content. He stated, “By raising the level of the department, someone might not feel like a protagonist. If Strefezza were not pleased to compete, we would evaluate any offers.”
The Lecce sporting director also spoke cautiously about the current transfer market. Trinchera noted, “This is a time of apparent calm. We are trying to do the most with the least effort. We have a squad of 29 footballers, but when there is a chance to intervene, we don’t look the other way, quite the opposite.” This indicates the club’s active approach towards enhancing their squad if the right opportunity presents itself.
