Salernitana’s head coach, Filippo Inzaghi, delivered a press conference ahead of their next Serie A match.
“We are aware Kastanos is not in good condition and Bohinen is suffering from fever”, Inzaghi stated as quoted in the conference. “We will try to do our best knowing that we are improving physically. The squad list is as expected, however, we are grappling with several absences.”
In the last two training sessions, Inzaghi revealed he tried Pierozzi and Sambia as midfielders. Inzaghi expressed satisfaction at Pierozzi’s arrival saying, “I’m happy with his arrival because I know him well, he’s in good condition even though he hasn’t played for a long time.”
Inzaghi cautioned against overburdening Pierozzi. “He’s a positive lad. He performed well in Serie B. He’s young and needs to grow.” The coach conceded that there is a deficit in their midfield which they are keenly aware of.
Regardless of their game system, Inzaghi emphasised the need for Salernitana to maintain the same attitude that they’ve shown since their match in Bergamo. Inzaghi’s statement indicates that, despite a tough fixture schedule, he sees the challenging matches as opportunities to raise levels of focus and self-esteem.
