Cagliari has set its sights on a fresh player to strengthen its defence in light of disappointing recent performances from summer signings Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Mateusz Wieteska. The player in question is Bologna’s Kevin Bonifazi, with Frosinone (in the lead) and Sassuolo also showing strong interest, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Cagliari’s sports director, Nereo Bonato, remains on the sidelines but Bonifazi’s central hiring is perceived as very high, at 1.2 million. Furthermore, it appears the Bologna side, led by Giovanni Sartori, has rejected a request from Ciociari for a contribution to the same payment in the context of a six-month loan.
These factors could potentially complicate the trail that could potentially lead the player, who hails from Rieti, to Sardinia.
